Chardonnay is one of the traditional noble cultivars which is celebrated around the world and is often called the queen of the white wine grapes.
In July this year Martin Smith, Paserene’s winemaker, travelled to Jeffreys Bay to present a selection of Paserene wines in a decadent food and wine pairing at De Viswijf Restaurant in the Eastern Cape.
The final step in creating a bottle of wine is deciding what to adorn the bottle with, something that captures the heart of the wine and catches the eye of the wine drinker.
Winter food pairings traditionally lean towards matching red wines leaving those who favour white wine wanting.
In celebration of Bastille Day, Paserene hosted the Wine and Clay event with Riccolah. The day offered an opportunity to enjoy tasting the Paserene Elements range while handcrafting a unique clay piece.
This campaign was initiated in Australia in 2020 as a way of creating awareness of the distinction between New and Old-World styles, linking to how the cultivar’s name often shifts from Syrah (Old-World) to Shiraz (New-World).
