Paserene’s wine tasting room in Franschhoek is truly something special. Inspired by, and in theme with the migratory swallow, it represents the continuity of the brand.
Conceptualised and designed by Etienne Stols Architects + Associates, Etienne Stols, Principal Architect said: “The building was designed to complement the current landscape and not to be in competition, but in harmony with its surroundings by creating an architectural language of hoes materials and soft organic forms.”

Paserene’s wine tasting room in Franschhoek is truly something special. Inspired by, and in theme with the migratory swallow, it represents the continuity of the brand.
Conceptualised and designed by Etienne Stols Architects + Associates, Etienne Stols, Principal Architect said: “The building was designed to complement the current landscape and not to be in competition, but in harmony with its surroundings by creating an architectural language of hoes materials and soft organic forms.”
The result is a contemporary, but classically under stated building resembling a martin’s nest: light wooden cladding is used to create a modern-style ‘crypto-porticus’ offset against rough slate accents, resembling the mud and clay swallows use to build their nests.
Glass stack doors allow for the whole building to become an open structure, transforming the beautiful exterior in to a natural extension of the interior. The facilities overlook a small dam on our wine estate, a clever nod towards the swallow’s habit of swooping over water.

The Elements Range symbolises the fun side of our wine estate in Franschhoek. Each bottle is unique, and can easily shine through in a luxury wine tasting, while also being the perfect mid-week tipple. These wines are made from different elements from each of our vineyards.

The Shiner is a vintage-specific wine made from grapes grown on our own Franschhoek vineyard. Each vintage is different depending on the harvest, representing the next chapter in the story of The Shiner.

Each bottle tells a story of the terroir that the grapes are sourced from, with flavours that highlight the purity of the fruit’s structure and elegance.
