Mourvèdre wine grapes are darkly coloured and are late-ripening. They are best suited to growing in warm, dry climates. It is commonly used as a blending grape, and provides a tannin flavour as well as spice and sweetness.

It is a vigorous grower and with high production levels. The berries have a firm green flesh and a dark skin.

At Paserene, Mourvèdre wine grapes are blended with others, such as Carignan and Syrah, in our Union 2016 and Rosé wines.

The grapes are sourced from Tulbagh and provide a rich flavour to the wines.
