Chardonnay is a green-skinned wine grape variety used to make white wine. It is grown worldwide and is a popular grape because the wine it produces is so expressive of terroir and technique.

Fermentation processes to bring out the flavours include malolactic fermentation, which Paserene uses in our Chardonnay 2018 white wine.

Our grapes are sourced from Elgin, where the climate is best suited to the aromatic quality of Chardonnay. The warmer South African climate produces Chardonnay wine grapes with a more tropical flavour and nose.
