Paserene is a small, family operated winery owned by Martin Smith and Ndabe Mareda, the sole purpose of which is to produce high-end, luxury wines. Great care was given to ensure that the wines produced, and artwork on the labels, are truly authentic to its “sense of place and people” and will guarantee a lasting legacy.
The Paserene range comprises of 3 wines, a Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and a Syrah-based red blend. These wines are made from grapes grown on our farm in Tulbagh, and the Chardonnay comes from beautiful vineyards in Elgin.
The 2018 Paserene Chardonnay is light golden in colour, with a beautiful green hue that is a tell-tale sign of Elgin fruit. The aromas are rich and elegant, abundant with lemon zest, white peach, oatmeal, and citrus blossoms.

Predominantly Syrah, this wine has ample complex aromas of blue berries, charcoal, violets and bacon fat. Exotic, smoky and thick with elegance as well as excellent definition.

This vintage the wine leads with black fruit as the primary component. Black berries and black currants in almost equal amounts, some cassis to creme de cassis and dried black cherry jam with figs and fruitcake.
